Christmas on Texas Avenue, now in its 19th year is funded in part by Baytown Tourism
This Holiday Festival benefits the Art League of Baytown and its many art programs for our citizens and visitors to our community.
In Year's Past
The holiday event, "Christmas on Texas Avenue" was initiated 18 years ago in an effort to revitalize the historic shopping district in what was called Goose Creek. Five years ago, the Art League of Baytown joined with City Councilman, Scott Sheley, and local businessman, Gordon Ginzel, to collaborate on the festival. Along with several other volunteers and area businessmen, this event was planned and achieved; and it became a major part of the city's holiday celebration.
The event now has an even greater cache of volunteers, partnering with the Art League of Baytown, Texas Avenue merchants, and Baytown businessmen.
Many of us volunteers have said, "We're all in this together". Yes, we indeed do help each other, maybe because it's been bred into us and not just for a few years but a few generations.
Each year we strive to improve upon the last. And this year in 2015, we have great prospects for even greater success.
